MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sept. 27, 2011 /zh-hans/PRNewswire/zh-hans/ -- ASTRO Booth #1825 — Continual visual verification that a tumor is being accurately targeted during a radiotherapy treatment is now possible with recent enhancements to the TrueBeam™ system.  This capability, called intrafraction motion review (IMR), is among the innovations that Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) will showcase at this year's annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Miami Beach next week.  

With intrafraction motion review, clinicians can use the imager on a TrueBeam system to continually monitor tumor location during treatment to ensure that the tumor hasn't moved out of range due to changes in the patient's breathing pattern.
