MEI Development Corporation and Varian Medical Systems Sign Sole-Source Supply Agreement for Radiation Therapy Technology

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) today announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with MEI Development Corporation and MEI Financial Services, LLC, both subsidiaries of the MEI Healthcare Group, LLC (MEI), for the purchase of radiation therapy systems for cancer treatment from Varian.

The agreement creates a strategic relationship in which Varian becomes the sole source of radiation therapy systems for MEI Development Corporation. Gordon Baltzer, President and CEO of The MEI Healthcare Group, LLC commented, "This strategic agreement ensures that our physician and hospital clients will have seamless access to Varian's cost effective and industry leading technology."
