One of the biggest barriers to optimizing a multi-disciplinary cancer care approach is that clinical teams often operate in silos or with disparate solutions, making it more difficult to access comprehensive patient data.
Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, is working to empower cancer care professionals with the tools and resources — including an oncology management solution that aims to unify data, resources, and expertise across oncology disciplines. Our goal is to empower care teams with a more holistic understanding of their patients and enable them to gain deeper insights to deliver more personalized care.
“We are working closely with clinical teams to understand the daily challenges in accessing comprehensive patient information and are developing innovative software solutions that combine advanced technologies with specialized services and clinical expertise,” said Ashley Smith, President, Multi-Disciplinary Oncology for Varian. “These tools are designed to enable care teams to spend more time on what matters most: providing the best possible care for each patient.”
Launched in 2023, Varian’s ARIA CORE oncology management solution builds upon the earlier ARIA oncology information system (OIS), which has been a leading platform for managing clinical workflows and patient information throughout the patient pathway.
- The ARIA Systemic Therapy Management (STM) module, a cloud-based, systemic therapy management module, incorporates updated drug ordering, pharmacy dispensing, inventory, and administration features, breaking down the longstanding obstacles to a fully integrated oncology management solution and helping clinicians manage the comprehensive patient care journey into survivorship.
- The Noona patient engagement application offers real-time symptom monitoring, empowering patients to be active participants in their care, and helping to ensure care teams are seeing a more complete picture of patient health.
- The InSightive Gen2 analytics platform is designed to help clinic professionals transform raw data into actionable insights for more efficient, effective decision-making by consolidating data from multiple sources, allowing users to unlock trends in patient and workflow volumes, as well as conduct appointment and task analyses to help improve outcomes.
- The ARIA CORE Mobile solution enables health providers to access key ARIA CORE features from the palm of their hand wherever they are.
- Advanced Oncology Solutions supports clinics, accessing broad oncology expertise and digitally enabled solutions to help address the challenges of fragmentation or siloed workflows — all helping reduce the complexities of cancer care.
“As cancer care continues to evolve, Varian is committed to ensuring care teams have the support, expertise, and intelligence they need to make better decisions at every step and deliver the most precise, effective care to patients,” Smith said. “We look forward to continuing to work with clinical teams to connect the data and information shared by multi-disciplinary care teams so they can focus on what matters most: taking care of patients.”
