Terilyn Juarez Monroe named to replace retiring Wendy Scott
PALO ALTO, Calif. — October 30, 2017 — Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) today announced it has named Terilyn Juarez Monroe as Chief People Officer, senior vice-president, Human Resources effective October 30, 2017. Ms. Monroe, 50, is replacing Wendy Scott who is retiring after serving in this same role at Varian for 13 years.
Ms. Monroe served the past two years as the Chief People & Culture Officer, SVP HR at Acxiom. During that time, she and her team of 75 HR employees partnered with leaders from across the business to drive transformational change in service, accelerate business performance and inspire a great place to work. For Acxiom, this transformation resulted in five 2017 employer of choice awards. Prior to Acxiom, Ms. Monroe spent 13 years at Intuit where she held several HR management roles, including Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Talent Engagement. In 2015, she was recognized by the Economist as one of the top 50 global diversity professionals. Before joining Intuit, Ms. Monroe worked in various HR and internal communications functions at Amdocs, Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Amdahl Corporation.

Ms. Monroe earned a BA in Public Relations, School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Business minor from San Jose State University in 1990.
