VE101 Velocity Training Course

The Varian Advanced Clinical School provides clinical knowledge relevant to the modern radiation oncology practice. With 6 disease sites covered over a 3-day period, a broad range of experience and expertise is shared with the course attendees. The faculty is comprised of leading radiation oncologists and medical physicists from a variety of prominent institutions nationwide. The case-based course focuses on advanced practical applications taught through physician and physicist didactics and hands-on demonstrations. Disease sites covered are: CNS, H&N, Breast, Lung, GI and GU.

OBI101 Technical Maintenance

Recommended for Radiation Therapists who will treat patients on a daily basis and will be able to teach others in the department. This course is also recommended for physicists that will be responsible for the QA and calibrations of the system. This course provides training for physicists and radiation therapists. This course will provide an overview of the Optical Surface Monitoring System, providing hands-on training to include: a hardware overview, in-depth training for patient entry, QA considerations and procedures, and treatment workflows.

This course is designed for those who help administer and service users and computers in an ARIA system. In this course we review all the software components of an oncology information system including the Clinac and TrueBeam Console, the 4D Treat workstation, the ARIA client applications and the ARIA Database Server. We focus on troubleshooting all aspects of the Varian software in the radiation therapy department. Specifically, we install, configure, break, fix, and use the ARIA software applications.

MLC102 MLC HDMLC Technical Maintenance

Features: • This course will cover the entire Millennium series of Varian Multi-Leaf Collimators. • This course includes all versions of the High Definition MLC (HDMLC). • The course covers all MLC model differences, controller differences, and available software versions. • This course includes basic theory of operation, alignment procedures, performing diagnostics, and all routine maintenance (PMI) procedures. • The course includes “hands-on” troubleshooting experience (fault finding) • Practice safely removing and replacing various MLC components.

Introduction to AURA (ARIA Unified Reports Application)

This remote session, “Introduction to AURA Reports” will be approximately 1 hour in length. The AURA solution uses MS SQL Server for report generation and replaces the Report Manager application/workspace within ARIA. AURA becomes available to customers with ARIA version 13.0 and higher. Staff who need to run reports and/or are required to make minor edits to existing reports will benefit from attending this workshop.

Velocity™ is a software tool that enables users to contour and correct for different patient positions between the imaging and treatment planning scans. The Velocity™ course expands on the onsite training knowledge provided by the applications specialists to assist the site in implementing Velocity.
