COVID-19: Serving Patients While Coping with Stress, Burn-Out, and Emotional Toll
Varian welcomes SIR, SIO, WAIS, SPECTRUM, AVIR, ARIN, and ARPE members.
Thank you for your interest in the COVID-19 Roundtable. We invite you to watch the replay if you missed the live event:
Interventional oncology professionals — doctors, nurses, technologists, trainees — were already dealing with one disease — cancer — when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. But cancer doesn’t stop for COVID-19. Many of us are having to find ways of continuing to serve our patients under extremely challenging circumstances. In hard-hit areas, we’re even being recruited to the front lines fighting COVID-19. Either way, it’s stressful.
Join us, along with SIR, SIO, WAIS, SPECTRUM, AVIR, ARIN, and ARPE members for a VarianVision roundtable that will address the stress that IO professionals are encountering during this time of global pandemic.
We’ll hear from clinical leaders who have been working with teams to adjust to conditions imposed by the COVID-19 crisis. We’ll talk about burn out with a mental health expert, who will also discuss how you can prepare (if the crisis hasn’t hit in your area yet), respond (if you’re in the thick of it) and recover (when the crisis has passed). We’ll discover how to manage through this new normal and avoid late reactions like PTSD.
