Varian Highlighting Continued Growth and Advancements in Particle Therapy at ASTRO

 

In addition to increased access to proton therapy, Varian is also continuing to make advancements in the technology. The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting on September 24 to 26, 2017 in San Diego presents a great opportunity to meet with representatives from Varian and learn about new developments in proton therapy.

In its booth (#717), Varian will be showcasing its ProBeam® Compact Single-Room Proton Therapy System in addition to the multi-room configuration. Varian will also be showcasing several other advanced technologies, including:

RapidScan™ Technology- high-speed pencil beam scanning for single breath-hold lung SBPT.

RapidPlan™ Software – knowledge-based approach to treatment planning and decision support tool for proton therapy patient selection.

Iterative CBCT – Next generation CBCT by applying advanced reconstruction algorithms that result in superior image quality. Provides clinicians better visualization of soft-tissue structure, making it possible to deliver proton therapy with greater confidence.

 

 

Varian User’s Meeting 2017

On September 23, Varian will be hosting its Users Meeting. Anthony Mascia, PhD. and Christel Smith, PhD will illustrate how advances in Eclipse™ and RapidPlan™ improve care for proton therapy patients.
