The Varian Clinical School involves case-based learning with expert clinicians from some of the leading cancer centers in the country. This multi-day course provides individuals and teams with the clinical knowledge needed to implement advanced treatment modalities, covering a range of topics disease site by disease site. From determining optimal treatment approaches to planning for special procedures like hypofractionation and/or deep inspiration breathhold; from determining and executing strategies for motion management to quality assurance for complex radiosurgery cases, the course is designed to enable implementation of these and other advanced approaches. Discussions cover forward-looking ways of approaching treatment, including SRS, SBRT, and adaptive radiotherapy, with a focus on imaging, choice of protocol, positioning and immobilization, contouring, treatment planning, and treatment delivery, drawing extensively on illustrative clinical case studies. This course is ideal for teams of clinicians who work together to plan and deliver radiotherapy, and it can also greatly benefit individual radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists.
