EC301 Eclipse Scripting API Basics

Unleash the power that exists within Eclipse by attending the Eclipse™ Scripting API Basics course. The Eclipse Scripting API Basics course aims to provide Eclipse users with the knowledge and tools to build ESAPI applications for research and clinical use. The goal of this four-day course is to introduce ESAPI, the Eclipse Script Wizard, the basics of C# and Visual Studio, and programming concepts needed to successfully develop ESAPI applications. Registration for the course will make available online content that will review the language syntax of C# and the building of Console Applications and User Interface design with Windows forms and Windows Presentation Foundation in Visual Studio. During the course, attendees will create custom applications that can be executed from within Eclipse or as stand-alone applications, as well as develop Visual Scripting applications. Open-source scripts will be downloaded and modified for personal use. An ESAPI expert guest speaker will also discuss the creation, validation, and implementation of clinical applications.

Course Description +
The Halcyon Physics course is designed to provide the clinical physicist the knowledge and understanding required to use the Halcyon accelerator in a safe and effective manner. This will include a description of the various parts of the linac, beam production, imaging, and MLC. Particular emphasis is placed on the standard physics tasks, including absolute dose calibration and imaging mode calibrations. The course will be delivered as a combination of instructor-led lectures and hands-on demonstration at the linac.

VARIAN MEDICAL SYSTEMS HAS BEEN APPROVED BY CAMPEP TO OFFER 19.5 MPCEC HOURS. This course is an introduction to Varian’s series of high-energy Clinac linear accelerators. The course is intended for hospital personnel with minimal or no exposure to the daily requirements and functions associated with Varian HE Clinacs. By the end of the course, the student will have a basic working knowledge of Clinac concepts, including machine terminology, safety, emergency off, morning checkout, machine warm up, interlocks, installation and proper handling of accessories. Also included are hand pendant diagnostics and minor repair, couch side panels diagnostic testing, Millennium MLC collimator terminology, software introduction and minor maintenance such as motor replacement. This will allow the student to communicate more effectively with Varian service personnel.

RapidPlan® knowledge-based planning is helping clinicians around the world achieve greater consistency, efficiency, and quality in radiotherapy treatment planning. This three-day hands-on course enables participants to implement RapidPlan and make it part of the clinical routine. The training is designed to enable users to be competent and confident in using RapidPlan functionality within the Eclipse™ treatment planning system. Users will be provided the knowledge to help them gain mastery of knowledge-based planning concepts as well as experience using and creating DVH estimation models, including the ability to verify and validate models. Users will learn and practice strategies for leveraging Varian-provided and other shared models for a quick ramp-up with RapidPlan. This three-day hands-on course enables participants to implement RapidPlan and make it part of the clinical routine. The training is designed to ensure that users become competent and confident in using RapidPlan functionality within the Eclipse™ treatment planning system.
