his course is presented in collaboration with the TreatSafely Organization and is designed to increase knowledge and awareness of Radiation Oncology safety through implementation of workflow features in ARIA. The knowledge and skills developed in the course are applied in the context of ARIA  Course topics include Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and Quality, as well as Departmental Culture and Human Factors to drive efficiencies and safety. Modules are configured around ARIA workflow and are designed to train the customer to become proficient in the development of advanced workflow through the implementation of Care Paths, Checklists, and Encounters. This class is most beneficial for customers who have a basic knowledge of ARIA and who wish to enhance their knowledge through workflow functionalities of ARIA. AR205 Reporting in ARIA Radiation Oncology

This course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the new reporting features in ARIA, also known as AURA (ARIA Unified Reporting Application), and the use of the reporting tool provided with the system. Microsoft Report Builder is taught as the reporting tool for creating and editing reports. The course is presented as a series of exercises in a workshop format and is appropriate for ARIA version 13.6. The intended audience includes database analysts and clinical personnel with an interest in generating reports.

This course is designed to provide an introductory overview of Clinac machine concepts, familiarity with the controls and features, and an understanding of the interlock matrix. The emphasis is to present the subject matter from a clinical use perspective. It does not focus only on day-to-day console programming applications but rather on an overall understanding of Clinac function and operation. The majority of the instruction is through extensive hands-on lab time on live beam machines.

The On-Board Imaging (OBI) Implementation course provides the initial training for the individual who is responsible for the implementation and the departmental training of the OBI system. This four and a half day task-based OBI course is designed to provide customers hands-on experience with the following: OBI system overview, OBI calibrations, basic OBI maintenance and QA, Plan preparation for use with OBI, Clinical functionality using kV/kV and MV/kV matching, Marker Match workspace, introduction to using Respiratory Gating with the OBI, CBCT clinical functionality and calibrations, and Third party software use with the OBI. PLEASE NOTE: This course does not provide full training on Respiratory Gating (for that, see CL222).

VARIAN MEDICAL SYSTEMS HAS APPLIED TO CAMPEP FOR THE APPROVAL OF THIS ACTIVITY FOR 12 MPCEC HOURS REQUESTED FOR APPROVAL. . The target audience for this course are PHYSICISTS, with the goal of provide them the principles and practice of respiratory gating in radiation oncology for clinical implementation. The Respiratory Gating course will cover the following topics: rationale for respiratory gating, clinical application of respiratory gating, general overview of respiratory-gated CT simulation, and respiratory-gated treatment delivery. 4D planning functionality in Eclipse is also demonstrated. The course also covers QA procedures for Respiratory gating consistency/functionality. This course provides an overview of RPM system for Clinac, Respiratory Gating for TrueBeam and RGSC for CT Scanners. Necessary administrations and calibrations are covered for all three systems.

Course Description +
This is an operations class where key concepts will be taught with a significant amount of hands on practice using Eclipse. The student will learn: to import and export a patient; segment structures using manual and automatic tools; create 3D treatment plans from scratch or from existing templates; calculate dose and evaluate plans using DVH and other tools; register CT/MRI/PET scans to one another; and prepare plans for treatment within the ARIA Environment. The goal of this course is for the learner to obtain and demonstrate the skills to perform 3D planning in Eclipse. PLEASE NOTE: THIS COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE INSTRUCTION ON IMRT/ RAPIDARC (SEE EC102) OR SYSTEM/ALGORITHM PHYSICS AND CONFIGURATION (SEE EC201 AND EC202), AND SHOULD PRECEDE IMRT (EC102)
