Advanced Form of Proton Therapy for Lung Cancer Recurrence

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center recently presented data at the 2017 Multidisciplinary Thoracic Cancers Symposium which shows early promise for the treatment of recurrent lung cancer with advanced form of proton therapy. The single-institution study showed, at one year, 61 percent of patients were free from recurrence in the chest and lung, and progression-free survival was 51 percent with IMPT.
