Varian's InSightive Analytics Solution Now Supports Multi-modality Treatment

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) today announced the release of InSightiveTM analytics v1.2. The software solution can now support both radiation and medical oncology data analytics for more informed decision making. InSightive allows users to easily explore their clinical and operational data to uncover trends that may lead to improved outcomes.

InSightive analytics gives oncology care providers the ability to automate business intelligence by aggregating, structuring, and processing their data. Decision making is simplified through InSightive's collaborative user interfaces, which help transform static information into dynamic visualizations and smart, customizable dashboards. Additionally, using the enhanced functionality of the software, InSightive users can expand analytics-driven decision making from a single site to an entire cancer care network.

"InSightive is used by many different functional roles within our clinic and across our hospital network," said Garry Currie, head of Radiotherapy Physics at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow, U.K. "It has helped us gain valuable awareness into our planning and treatment regimens, so we can provide better patient care, improving our effectiveness and efficiency."

Customers can also take advantage of Varian's professional services to help them configure InSightive analytics to their workflows. At UCLA Health, Varian's clinical consulting team assessed clinical and operational workflows to identify areas for improved data capture and data quality, which led to greater organizational analytics adoption and a pathway to improved patient care.

"Analytics has the power to transform raw data into actionable insights for cancer care providers," said Sukhveer Singh, vice president, Oncology Continuum Solutions, Varian Medical Systems. "It is revealing what was previously unknown and in doing so, improving the quality of care that can be provided to cancer patients. InSightive analytics brings us another step closer to our goal of living in a world without fear of cancer."
