Varian Medical Systems Hungary is a healthcare company based in Budapest. Together with Siemens Healthineers, we came together with the bold promise of transforming cancer care and improving outcomes for millions of patients around the world. Our mission is to create a world without fear of cancer, through developing cutting edge technologies and providing state of the art solutions in cancer therapy. Varian Hungary currently employs more than 400 colleagues of different nationalities from around the world, operating from two locations in Budapest: Science Park and MOM Park offices.

Our activities

Varian Hungary began its journey in 2012 in Budapest. The initial years focused on establishing sales and service activities and core capabilities, with a significant milestone in 2014 when the R&D center was established. Our engineering teams contribute to various parts of cancer treatment - such as treatment management and planning, patient management, treatment delivery solutions, optical imaging and machine quality assurance - through their extensive expertise in software and hardware development and testing.

In 2017, our Finance Shared Service Center was also created along with other corporate functions. During the years, Varian Hungary evolved into a comprehensive center of excellence with multiple specialized departments:

Work Environment & Office

We have two locations in Budapest, one in Csörsz utca next to MOM Park and in the Science Park office buildings. Both offices are in a central location and easy to get to by car, bike, or public transport. In our Science Park office, we also have our very own gym with a set of equipment and group courses. And in case our colleagues don’t want to leave their dogs at home, they are also welcomed in our dog-friendly offices.

In 2024, we launched our Talent Academy, reinforcing our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers and specialists in medical technology. Our Varian Finance Development Program is a dynamic, two-year rotational experience that empowers young finance professionals to gain diverse insights and fast-track their career growth.

Life at Varian Hungary

Company-wide team building events are regular highlights on our calendar, bringing together colleagues from both of our Budapest offices. These gatherings provide a great opportunity to meet colleagues from other teams and departments and get to know each other. Besides our regular Christmas & Santa Claus parties, we love to come together for running events, hikes around Budapest, or board game nights.

We also have a tradition to contribute to meaningful causes. Our global volunteering program offers eight hours of paid volunteering time per year. Thanks to this initiative many of our teams spend time regularly giving back to the community to help where needed. Every year, we organize our charity cookie fair before Christmas and prepare Christmas gifts for children in need. We also have our Health Month initiative where we collect money by doing sports for a great purpose.
