Sasa Mutic, Ph.D., FAAPM, is the President of Radiation Oncology Solutions at Varian, where he oversees R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and commercial operations for external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and related software products. He is dedicated to enhancing patient care globally through innovative solutions that empower clinicians in the fight against cancer.

Dr. Mutic brings over 20 years of experience in patient care. Prior to joining Varian in 2020, he served as an Endowed Professor and Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. There, he directed the Medical Physics Division and contributed to groundbreaking advancements in radiation oncology.

With over 200 peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures worldwide, Dr. Mutic holds multiple patents and has collaborated on transformative technological innovations. He has served in various roles within the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and he is a fellow of the AAPM.

Dr. Mutic earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri and a Master of Science in Medical Physics from the University of Colorado. He completed his residency in Medical Physics at Washington University and is certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology.
