IGBT | Treatment Process
Increasingly, imaging is playing a major role in brachytherapy by helping doctors decide the appropriate target location, plan the radiation prescription, and by guiding the placement of applicators. As a leader in IGBT technologies, Varian has developed fully integrated, customizable IGBT treatment solutions designed to meet the needs of growing clinics, and to help doctors raise the quality of patient care. These treatment solutions support both planning and treatment stages.
The BrachySuite combines the Varian® Acuity™ Radiotherapy Simulator with an afterloader in one procedure room where imaging, including cone beam CT imaging, helps create the treatment plan and guide the applicator positioning.
