The Novalis Tx has a sophisticated set of dose delivery technologies for precise and efficient radiosurgical treatment.

Beam Shaper

The HD120 high-definition beam shaper with 64 - 2.5 mm leafs offers the smallest leaves available for highly precise dose conformality around the tumor. Tighter margins can result in superior dose escalation to the tumor, while reducing the risk of complications to normal tissue.

Powerful Linac

Offering a high dose rate, 1,000 MU per minute, and a range of high energies, 6 MV to 20 MV, Novalis Tx is a most powerful radiosurgery system, penetrating deeper to treat tumors previously considered inoperable.

Novalis Tx™ guides treatment | comprehensive image-guidance & tracking technologies

The Novalis Tx offers the most comprehensive set of image-guidance and verification capabilities. With three imaging chains, ExacTrac X-Ray 6D / OBI / MV-PV, Novalis Tx far eclipses image-guidance capabilities of SRS systems with only one image-guidance technology. These technologies provide automatic positioning for both initial setup and target verification during treatment. The OBI is mounted to Novalis Tx and rotating robotic arms along three axes of motion provide the best possible view of the tumor. OBI cone-beam CT scanning also allows for 3D imaging of soft tissue. With gating technologies, RPM and Adaptive, married to your image acquisition devices, you can be assured of precisely treating tumors that move with respiration, while avoiding critical structures.

Stereo Room-Based Imager

ExacTrac X-Ray 6D room-based imaging system which features pre- and iso- automated treatment positioning with stereo x-ray images plus Snap Verification during treatment.

Volumetric Linac-Based Imager

On-Board Imager (OBI) is a machine-based image providing Cone-Beam CT (CBCT) for volumetric soft-tissue discrimination and kV fluoroscopic imaging for respiratory and peristaltic motion verification. 180 degree CBCT can acquire and deliver hundreds of CT slices in less than a minute directly on the treatment table.

MV PortalVision (MV-PV)

MV-PV provides for MV treatment verification during dose delivery so you can “see what you treat while you treat”. MV-PV provides EPID based portal dosimetry QA to accurately and automatically verifies system performance.

RPM Respiratory Gating

RPM is available for both your GE CT imaging systems and for the Novalis Tx offering both prospective and retrospective gating.

ExacTrac Adaptive Gating

ExacTrac X-Ray 6D Adaptive tracks intra-organ fiducials to precisely capture the location of tumors moving with respiration treating the tumor and avoiding critical structures moving relative to tumor motion.

iPLAN and Eclipse provide powerful tools for planning radiosurgical treatment delivery to your patients. iPLAN has sophisticated software designed specifically with the surgeon in mind, employing all the sophisticated technologies which he might have at his disposal for planning. Eclipse is specifically designed for the radiation oncologist providing him the breadth of flexibility that he requires.

iPLAN

iPLAN includes a powerful suite of software for automatic image fusion, auto contouring and dose planning techniques. Sophisticated tools such as Smartbrush, auto segmentation based on elastic fusion of anatomical atlases, and planning of sophisticated conformal radiosurgical techniques provides for unmatched versatility and simplicity for the radiosurgeon.

Eclipse

Eclipse provides a number of technologies familiar to the Radiation Oncologists involved in Radiosurgery. In addition it enables the use and operation of RapidARC, MV-PortalVision, 4D Planning and Portal Dosimetry.
