Neurosurgeons and other surgeons
The Novalis Tx delivers a high-intensity shaped beam of radiation to your patients' pathology to precisely paint the lesion with dose while sparing critical structures. Other systems use one or more cones delivering circular beams of dose to tissue. Tumors are rarely circular so the result may be non-uniform hot spots and cold spots. The Novalis Tx delivers the right dose, to the right place.
Some radiosurgery systems only deliver anterior and lateral treatments. The Novalis Tx treats your patients from every approach, including posteriorly, which helps provide safer, more uniform treatments. To reduce the risk to nearby critical structures when patients breathe, the Novalis Tx strobes the beam in real time, using image-guidance to adapt treatment during typical patient movement, so it treats what you planned to treat.
By combining stereo-2D imaging with built-in volumetric cone-beam CT scanning and fluoroscopy, the Novalis Tx volumetrically defines the target in full 3D, provides soft-tissue detail from on-board CT imaging and enables you to view soft tissues moving during respiration. This helps eliminate the risk of missing important detail only found in soft and moving tissues.
The Novalis Tx with Portal Vision™ and ExacTrac X-Ray 6D with Snap verification can take patient images at anytime during treatment—the key to beneficial image guidance. Furthermore, the Novalis Tx brings patient data to you, helping ensure that you have the patient information you need before, during, and after the procedure.

The Novalis Tx™ offers the highest dose rates and the highest resolution beam shaper available, with continuous dose delivery for fast treatment—often in just minutes, unlike some systems that start and stop delivery of radiation from hundreds of different locations consuming valuable time.
Continuous high-definition beam shaping and continuous dose delivery around the patient means the Novalis Tx can provide an optimal balance of form and function. Some new form factors may not address existing needs and can limit performance.
In addition, the Novalis Tx multiple energy system (6 MV to 20 MV) penetrates deeper with greater conformality. This helps improve treatment of deep-seated tumors and helps keep adjacent organs and tissue safe.
