With the introduction of Varian's fine leaf Millennium 120 MLC, clinicians can now provide patients the treatment precision and accuracy previously available only with customer compensators and blocks.

Dynamic Control - DMLC

Standard on the Trilogy system this dynamic MLC capability provides Intensity modulated radiation Therapy using either a segmental approach with Step and shoot or a Dynamic approach with sliding window delivery.

Advanced capabilities

Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy: MLC leaf motion during static gantry beam delivery.
Electronic compensation: MLC leaf motion during static gantry beam delivery. Used to perform a uniform dose at a user specified plane.
Dynamic Conformal Arc Therapy: MLC leaf motion during gantry rotation. The leaves dynamically conforming to the tumour outline.
Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy ( IMAT). A series of arcs with gantry and MLC motion throughout.
500 MLC segments per field.

Leaf Orientation: Leaf movement in the “X” direction (parallel with lower jaws)
Leaf Interdigitation: Adjacent leaves from opposing banks can move past one another
