Acuity CBCT

3D imaging for planning and verification

3D imaging for planning and verification

The Acuity system combines conventional and CT imaging in one easy to use product.

Acuity can quickly change from radiographic and fluoroscopic mode for isocenter localization to CT acquisition mode for treatment planning. This is accomplished with no movement of the patient from the actual treatment position.

Acuity's Cone beam CT has the capability of acquiring and reconstructing 3D volumetric data in one gantry rotation. Using automated dual and triple scanning; up to 45cm of data can be acquired in one session, and used for planning or verification.

The aperture size is selectable for different treatment set ups that require a larger aperture size.

Working together with ARIA Oncology Information System and Eclipse Integrated Treatment Planning, Acuity cone-beam CT image data is immediately available for treatment planning and patient set-up verification. They are all part of the Varian's integrated oncology solutions.

Acuity cone-beam CT is available for any Acuity model and may be retrofitted on site.

Key features
  • Volumetric scanning
  • Dual and triple scanning
  • Large aperture size
  • High quality images
Benefits at a glance
  • CBCT acquires a volume of image data in one 360 degree rotation of the gantry taking 45 seconds.
  • Up to 45 cm of image data can be acquired using the automated dual and triple scanning techniques.
  • Patients can be scanned in the actual treatment position. No alteration to treatment set ups need to be made.
  • Images can be used for planning and/or verification, providing additional CT resources in the same room as simulation.
