Vitesse HDR Prostate Planning

Vitesse™ provides advanced tools for prostate treatment planning that eliminate the CT scanner step and create the treatment plan in parallel with patient recovery.

Vitesse features are designed for:

  • Acquiring and contouring ultrasound data
  • Planning needle insertion positions
  • Refining needle positions as they are inserted under ultrasound guidance
  • Identifying the final needle paths from a post-implant ultrasound volume
  • All data can then be exported in DICOM RT format to BrachyVision to complete a plan for an HDR prostate procedure, eliminating the time required for CT data acquisition.

Before Vitesse, a typical procedure would follow this course:

Implant - Recovery - CT Scan - Treatment Plan - Review – Treat

Now, with Vitesse, the process becomes:

Implant - Treatment Plan and Review during Recovery – Treat

This simplification can easily save 1.5 to 2 hours off the time to first treatment, a change that would enable you to perform two fractions on the first day, for more than one patient. Vitesse has been adopted at several leading cancer centers by clinicians wishing to reduce treatment time—which means their patients spend less time in the hospital.
