Robert H. Kluge
Corporate Senior Vice President; President, X-Ray Products
Robert H. Kluge is corporate senior vice president and president of the X-Ray Products business. He joined the company in 1993 as vice president and general manager, X-ray Tube Products, for Varian Associates. Since 1999, when Varian Medical Systems was established as a freestanding medical company, under Kluge's leadership the X-ray Products business more than doubled its revenues while tripling operating earnings. Kluge has overseen the development and commercialization of new X-ray tube products and a line of flat-panel digital image detectors for filmless fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging.
Prior to joining Varian in 1993, Bob had accumulated nearly 20 years of experience in the diagnostic imaging field, including a role as the marketing and operations general manager of Picker International and 12 years with General Electric's Medical Systems Group. He has a B.S. in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin.
