High C Machine Acceptance
Who Should Attend: This course is provided primarily for physicists directly involved in the acceptance, commissioning, and quality assurance of the linear accelerator and treatment planning system. It is also suitable for biomedical engineers and department managers with RTT backgrounds who wish to expand their understanding of machine acceptance and quality assurance.
Course Scope: This course will primarily cover the acceptance process of new high- energy linear accelerator; however it will also give an overview of basic QA procedures. The course will use as its basis the Varian Acceptance Test Procedure booklet, and all practical training will be performed on a high energy Varian machine. It will cover Varian's and the Hospital's responsibilities during machine acceptance and other associated procedures. Emphasis will be placed on the role of the physicist and the duties relative to commissioning of a new machine, and initial quality assurance requirements.
