Respiratory Gating 1.6
Who Should Attend: Physicist
Prerequisites: This course covers RPM Respiratory Gating 1.6 only. Real-time Position Management (RPM 1.7) is available through E-Learning (to access use the hyperlink http://learning.syntrio.com/VARIANLC ). Pre-requisite for RPM 1.6 is the basic knowledge of linear accelerator function and clinical use.
Course Scope: The goal of the RPM Respiratory Gating 1.6 course is to provide participants with sufficient knowledge of the principles and practice of respiratory gating in radiation oncology for clinical implementation. The RPM Respiratory Gating course will cover the following topics: rationale for respiratory gating, clinical application of respiratory gating, general overview of respiratory-gated CT simulation, respiration-synchronized conventional simulation and respiratory-gated treatment delivery for both 3D CRT and IMRT. The course will also cover the acceptance test procedures for the RPM Respiratory Gating system and routine QC/QA procedures for respiratory-gated treatment.
