PortalVision TM Exact-Arm
Prerequisites: Course dates listed below cover the Exact-Arm only. If you have an R- Arm, exit this screen and select the PV TM R-Arm link for those dates. Contact the Education Department if you have any questions. Experience with computer-controlled electro-mechanical technology and Windows XP is recommended. Enrollment in certain courses is limited to full-time employees of Varian Medical Systems' ('Varian's") customers due to the confidential and proprietary nature of the information provided as part of the course curriculum. Customers may not register part-time employees, contractors or other third parties to attend these courses, even if the individuals seeking registration perform services for the customers. I understand that I am registering for an educational course offered by Varian that is limited to full-time employees of Varian's customers due to the confidential and proprietary nature of the information provided as part of the course curriculum. Course Scope: This course will cover the Exact-Arm emergency and safety procedures as well as normal operating procedures and hand pendant operations. Complete Arm calibrations will be performed as well as encoder adjustments, belt tensioning and belt removal and replacement. The imaging portion of the course will allow the student to go through the set-up, calibration, and testing of the Image Acquisition system 2 & 3. Using aS500 image detector troubleshooting & maintenance techniques will be performed. Image quality troubleshooting & correction will also be covered. Using an IAS3 Imaging System for Live Beam Labs, complete Imager calibrations, as well as, Portal Dosimetry calibrations will be performed. This course lasts for 4.5 days, Monday through Friday. Class hours are from 8:30am- 4:30pm M-TH with expected completion by 12:00 noon on Friday
