EIP_IMRT Administration and Physics 8.9

Who Should Attend: Physicist. EIP Ops is the alternative class for Dosimetrists. MDCB credits are available.

Prerequisites: Attendance of Eclipse Administration and Physics Course; 2-3 months routine clinical use of Eclipse recommended.

Course Scope: The Eclipse Inverse Planning Administration and Physics course provides training for the individual responsible for commissioning of inverse planning modules of the Eclipse Treatment Planning System in a clinical environment. The course is targeted to medical physicists working in external beam radiation therapy departments. If the version you are currently using is version 10, supplemental training in this version will be provided. The course discusses implementation of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Volumetric Modulated Radiation Therapy (VMAT) treatment techniques in the Eclipse Treatment Planning system. It focuses on commissioning and use of inverse planning modules which include IMRT optimization, Beam Angle Optimizations and VMAT (RapidArc) optimizations. The basics of Varian MLCs are discussed and overview of essential QA procedures is given.
