Proton Techniques

Varian Intensity Modulation Proton Therapy (IMPT) uses Dynamic Peak™ technology to enable clinicians to tailor and maximize the radiation dose to a tumor, while delivering lower global dose to healthy tissue.

Dose is "painted" to the tumor from multiple angles, with the beam intensity modulated and shaped to match the shape of the tumor.

Optimal IMPT delivery is achieved through:

• Active scanning with Dynamic Peak™ Treatment Delivery
• Respiratory gating for organ motion
